St. Vincent de Paul Society’s Friends of the Poor Fundraiser The support of our parishioners has allowed us to help many families with utility bills or rent payments. Now SVDP needs funds for the longer term ministry to help families in Central Peoria neighborhoods. Friends of the Poor is an annual fund raising event and St. Philomena volunteers need your help in meeting our goal. Cash or checks payable to Society of SVDP can be put in an envelope with “Friends of the Poor” plus your name and address written on the outside. Donations can be placed in weekend collection or mailed to the parish office by October 4. All parishioner donations will help families in our neighborhoods. All who donate will receive a letter from the event coordinator. The St. Philomena SVDP group will also be eligible to obtain grants from this national event to help even more families.
