Friday, November 1 is All Saints’ Day and a holy day of obligation. Mass at St. Philomena will be Thurs., Oct. 31 at 5:30pm and Fri., Nov. 1 at 7am, 8am, 9am (school Mass) and 5:30pm. For Mass times around the area, visit our website:  https://www.stphils.com/church/all-saints-day-november-1/

If you’ve already purchased your tickets to Wonderland, stop at the table in the Link (hall between the church and parish center) after Mass this weekend to pick up your catalog. Your catalog is your ticket and has your bid number for that night. If you are unable to pick it up this weekend, contact Sarah Gruber (sprice88@yahoo.com) to make other arrangements.

There is still time for you to purchase tickets to Wonderland, our benefit auction,  on Sat., Nov. 9.  Come and join us for excellent food, over-the-top decor and lively entertainment!  We have an auction packed with something for everyone, for every budget.  Tickets are $45 per person. Stop at the table in the Link after Mass this weekend.

Fall Adult Study: The Teachings of Archbishop Fulton J Sheen meets each Wednesday from 6:30-8pm in the parish center banquet room. The next series in this study is based on the book “The World’s First Love” by Fulton J. Sheen. Reading the book is optional. The series will end with an optional Marian consecration. Childcare offered if requested in advance to Jenny Witt (jwitt@stphils.com/309-682-8642).

St. Philomena School families are selling Tanners Apple Cider Donuts as a fundraiser. Orders are due November 4. Donuts are $14 each for one or two dozen, and $13 each for three dozen or more. Download an order form on the school website: https://www.stphils.com/school/about-us/recent-news/ . Turn in your orders to the school or parish office, or contact a school family to place an order.

The PTO will not offer a wreath sale this year. Thank you for your support of this fundraiser through the years.

The school’s annual Canned Food Drive is right around the corner. This drive will run from Nov. 4-15. Feel free to donate cans and toiletries in the box located in the back of the church. Please do not donate any glass items or Halloween candy. Thank you for your support!

On Thurs., Nov. 7, St. Philomena student council invites all veterans to come to St. Philomena’s school Mass at 9 am to be honored. There will be a Veterans’ Day presentation following Mass.

Sign and Sing Storytime The final session of Sign and Sing for this fall runs Thursdays from Oct. 31-Dec. 12. There will not be class on Nov. 28. Class meets in the parish center basement toddler room after 8am Mass. Cost is $25/family. Please return your baby bottles in support of the Women’s Care Center this week/weekend. Bottles can be returned to the bins at each entrance or to the parish center office. Thank you for your support.

Fr. Mike Driscoll will present a series of six adult education sessions entitled, “Catholic Sanity: a Catholic Approach to Mental Health.” The sessions will be held at Peoria Notre Dame High School Auditorium, Wednesdays at 7pm, through Dec. 11. Come to any or all sessions, open to the public, no sign up. If you’d like a list of topics, contact the parish office.

GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays. Grieving? Know someone who is? When you are grieving a loved one’s death (spouse, child, sibling, parent, grandparent, close friend…), the holiday season can be especially painful. Please join us for this encouraging seminar on Mon., Nov. 18 from 6:30-8pm in the Parish Center. Next Men’s Club Meeting: Thurs., Nov. 7  at 6pm in the Parish Center. This is our annual “wild game feed.” Come and feast on a variety of wild game. This is always a popular meeting. If you have not joined yet this year, you can do so at this meeting. Annual dues are only $10. Plus, free dinner with your paid membership. Yum! Each time you attend a Men’s Club meeting you have a chance to win cash. This month’s pot is about $725. Free dinner and a chance to win cash. Don’t miss it!

St. Philomena Troop 18 Boy Scouts Annual Holiday Smoked Meat Sale. Contact Chris Lewis:  303-4727 or lewischris1975@gmail.com The Scouts will be at Mass next weekend to take your orders in person.  All orders must be received & paid for by Nov. 22. All products will be delivered to your house after 12pm on Sat, Dec. 7 by the Boy Scouts. Contact Chris or a Scout for a complete price sheet.

On Nov. 16 at 10am we will have our annual Parish Memorial & Healing Mass. This is when we remember all of our deceased loved ones, with special remembrance of those from our parish who have died in the past year. At this same Mass, Father David will anoint anyone who wishes to be anointed for physical, spiritual or emotional healing. Please join us.
