40 Days for Life: We are still taking sign ups for our 40 Days for Life day of prayer at Planned Parenthood on Sunday, October 20. Stop in the main vestibule through Friday.

The 22nd Annual St. Philomena PTO Benefit Auction WONDERLAND is coming up on Saturday, November 9.  Come and join us for excellent food, over-the-top decor and lively entertainment!  We have an auction packed with something for everyone, for every budget.  Make sure to send in your RSVP card, email Sarah Gruber (sprice88@yahoo.com) or stop at our table after Mass. Tickets are $45 per person.

Fall Adult Study – Treasure in Clay: The Teachings of Archbishop Fulton J Sheen meets each Wednesday from 6:30-8pm in the parish center banquet room. For a list of topics visit our website Contact Jenny Witt (jwitt@stphils.com/309-682-8642) to reserve child care needs.

Choir practice is each  Wednesday from 6:30-8pm (new time!) in the choir loft. All are welcome! Questions: contact the parish office. The choir sings at the 9am Mass every week.

We are also looking for additional cantors to help with weekend Masses. It is preferred that you have experience performing or musical training. If you are interested in using your singing talents as a cantor, please reach out to Father David in the parish office or director Rick Ferguson, 687-3013.

As we continue through the Church’s Ordinary Time, we are aware that Advent and Christmas will soon be here. We are currently gathering names of families in our church and school family that may be in need of assistance for Christmas gifts. If you are or know of a family from our parish in need, please email Fr. David (frdprichardson@stphils.com) with their information before October 25. All information is confidential.

Trunk or Treat is Sunday, October 27. Gates open at 1pm, Trunk or Treating at 2pm. Enter campus on Twelve Oaks. Prizes for Best Costume & Decorated Trunk. Accepting donations of cash or baby items at the gate to benefit the Women’s Care Center. Bring enough treats for 350 kids. All parish families welcome!

For the first time ever, Tanners Orchard is offering a fundraiser to help schools earn money and St. Philomena School will be one of the first to participate. You can order delicious Tanners Apple Cider Donuts by the dozen and pick them up to enjoy with your family in November. Orders are due November 4 and pick up will be November 15 in the Parish Center. Volunteers will be available after Mass on October 26 & 27 to take your orders in person. Donuts will be $14 each for one or two dozen, and $13 each for three dozen or more. The 6th graders from St. Philomena School are collecting items for St. Jude families,  Waiting Room Kits for the kids and Care Bags for their families. Please help us by donating any of the following items: Crayola crayons, markers, colored pencils (small sizes please); stickers and drawing paper; color books with the themes: Superheroes, Action Figures, Animals; (travel sizes please of): shampoo/conditioner, disposable razors, shaving cream, toothbrush, toothpaste, adult hand lotion, combs/brushes, lip balm, manicure set, earbuds, chap-stick, hair ties. We will collect items in the church through Sunday, October 27.

There is a second collection this weekend for World Mission Sunday. Thank you in advance for your generosity in support of the missionary work of the Church throughout the world. Checks should be payable to St. Philomena.

Fr. Mike Driscoll will present a series of six adult education sessions entitled, “Catholic Sanity: a Catholic Approach to Mental Health.” The sessions will be held at Peoria Notre Dame High School Auditorium, Wednesdays at 7pm, October 30 – December 11. Come to any or all sessions, open to the public, no sign up.

After Mass this weekend: Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive fundraiser for those with intellectual disabilities and PND Teens For Life March for Life raffle ticket fundraiser for the March for Life. Also, a member of the Women’s Nights group with information on the Advent by Candlelight event in December.
