The January 24 bulletin is now available online.

Dear friend,

This week we organized the Adoration Chapel with social distance seating and kneelers. We have a new program that will help us schedule adorers for the chapel and allow adorers to request substitutes. Our hope is that a new system will not only help us get the chapel open again, but help us successfully run the chapel into the future. This week we will be sending communication to those that had previously scheduled Adoration hours in the chapel. If you now know that you would like to resume your previous adoration hour, please communicate with Rhonda Parker in the Parish Office or email rhonpark@stphils.com.  Prior to opening the chapel, we are going to build the list of those assigned to particular hours. We will use the same key fob for entrance to the chapel, but the access will only be turned on for those that register with the Parish Office. I want to slowly give access to the Chapel for safety reasons. We have 8 seats in the Chapel placed at 4 different seating locations. This will allow couples to sit next to each other. The Chapel will have a maximum occupancy of 8 persons, if each of the 4 chair locations are occupied by couples or members of the same household. For scheduling purposes, we will attempt to register one person or one couple for each hour of the seven day week. Thank you for your patience in our efforts to reopen the Chapel and your desire to Adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Eucharistic Adoration is one of the best ways for us to grow in communion with God.

School continues to go well. We reopened school on Wednesday, January 6. That day is one I will remember for a long time. Many of the kids were walking around the building saying it was the “best day ever.” While I don’t think we can be careful enough dealing with the coronavirus, we do know that it is so important for the kids to be with each other and learning in school. Our teachers and staff have done a phenomenal job keeping the kids safe in school and adapting the classrooms to best deliver lessons. From the beginning of the school year we’ve had a few cases of coronavirus in the school, but to this point, all infections are connected to individual homes. We are confident in our protocols and thankful that we’ve yet to see any community spread at our school. Thank you to all our parents, grandparents and parishioners who have supported us through prayer and financial giving to help operate our parish school. Have a great week.

God bless,

Father David
