Parishioner Jena Brooks recently graduated college and answered “Yes!” to the call from God to be a missionary. Jena is the daughter of Misty and the late Todd Brooks. She will serve for two years with FOCUS, the Fellowship of Catholic University Students. FOCUS places missionaries on college campus to win the hearts of college students, build them in the faith and send them to the world. Jena is one of 730 FOCUS Missionaries who will be sent out to one of 172 locations. Jena shares more of her story below.
“As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to Christ. My life has been transformed by Jesus and I want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. My faith didn’t happen in one big, grand, and overwhelming moment; rather, it’s been a purifying journey that’s urged me to embrace the will of becoming, reclaiming the person He created me to be. The current state of my divine intimacy with God, and moral growth, was borne out of the fruits of authentic friendship and serious discipleship. Jesus Christ has swept me up into His story through the Sacrificial love He has for His people. ”
“When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. If you are interested in partnering with me, please call me at 309-472-4856. I would be honored to share this mission with you!”
Thank you for your “Yes!” to God, Jena.
