Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, Level 1, 2025-2026

Below are the dates, times, and location for our Level 1 Formation Course for 2025-26. All of these dates are part of the Level 1 Formation. This course will equip a catechist or teacher who serves children between the ages of 3 through 6. The Level 1 course will be hosted at Epiphany Parish, 1000 E. College Ave., Normal, IL 61761 and St. Philomena Parish, 1000 W. Albany Ave., Peoria, IL, 61604.  The cost for the course is $500 per person. Level 1 Part A

• 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
• August 4-7, 2025 at Epiphany
• August 8, 2025 at St. Philomena

Level 1 Part B

• 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
• May 26-30, 2026, Location TBA

Level 2 of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd 

If a catechist or teacher teaches children ages 6-9 (first-third grade) the formation they would receive is called Level 2. It is a prerequisite to complete Level 1 Formation prior to Level 2. It is prudent to send your Level 1 and Level 2 catechists/teachers to Level 1 at the same time. Level 2 formation is tentatively scheduled to be offered in the fall of 2026 and spring of 2027. In Level 2 there will be 11 days of formation, typically divided into a part A and B similar to Level 1.
