Mrs. Courtney Bernhardt

Mrs. Bernhardt joined the staff at St. Philomena in 2023-2024. She was born and raised in Bourbonnais, IL. She attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Franciscan University of Steubenville where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Theology with a minor in Psychology. Mrs. Bernhardt is married to Brian, and they have one sweet daughter, Thérèse. Before coming to St. Philomena, she worked for the Church for more than a decade in many roles including Totus Tuus Missionary, FOCUS, and Youth Ministry. In her free time, Courtney enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, working out, painting, enjoying a coffee shop, and spending time with Jesus.

Miss Bogner began teaching at St. Philomena School in 2018-19. She has been teaching fifth through eighth grades since 2008.  She is originally from Sparland, IL.  Miss Bogner attended Western Illinois University where she earned her degree in Elementary Education.  In her after school time, Miss Bogner enjoys crafting, reading, going on road trips, and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Breitbach has taught fourth grade at St. Philomena since 2012 and taught at St. Mark's before taking time off to raise her family.  She is from Peoria and obtained a degree in Elementary Education at Loras College.  When not teaching, Mrs. Breitbach likes to spend time with her husband and four daughters.

Mr. Burk joins the faculty of St. Philomena School for the 2024-2025 school year. Danny earned his bachelors degree from Northern Illinois University. From 2007-2015 he taught history and English at Peoria Notre Dame High School, where he continues coaching soccer and wrestling. He is also part owner of Crossfit Peoria.  Danny and his wife, Nikki, are the parents to two boys, Duke and Bo.

Mrs. Kayla Burr joined the staff at St. Philomena School in 2023-24. She is a native of Carthage, IL and attended Illinois Wesleyan University, where she received a B.A. in Psychology. Kayla and her husband, Daniel, are members of St. Philomena Parish and have five daughters, Anna, Felicity, Eliza, Josephine and Eden. When she has time, Kayla likes to do house projects, tidy up, cook/bake, sing, and just reflect and plan in silence :) Mrs. Burr's favorite things.

Mrs. Chambers has taught second grade at St. Philomena School since 2007-08 and began teaching two years prior to her arrival.  She earned a degree in Early Childhood Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University.  When not teaching, Mrs. Chambers likes to spend time with her husband, Tony; son, Cole and daughter, Addison.

Ms. Cramer begins teaching at St. Philomena for the 2024-2025 school year. After receiving her degree in music from Drake University, she spent four years teaching art at Peoria Notre Dame High School.  From Hanna City, she lives with her husband John and their puppy Frida. In her spare time Laurel loves reading, making pottery, and hiking.
