Mrs. Bernhardt begins her first year at St. Philomena in the 2023-2024 school year. She was born and raised in Bourbonnais, IL. She attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Franciscan University of Steubenville where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Theology with a minor in Psychology. Mrs. Bernhardt is married to Brian, and they have one sweet daughter, Thérèse. Before coming to St. Philomena, she worked for the Church for more than a decade in many roles including Totus Tuus Missionary, FOCUS, and Youth Ministry. In her free time, Courtney enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, working out, painting, enjoying a coffee shop, and spending time with Jesus.

Miss Bogner began teaching at St. Philomena School in 2018-19. She has been teaching fifth through eighth grades since 2008.  She is originally from Sparland, IL.  Miss Bogner attended Western Illinois University where she earned her degree in Elementary Education.  In her after school time, Miss Bogner enjoys crafting, reading, going on road trips, and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Breitbach has taught fourth grade at St. Philomena since 2012 and taught at St. Mark's before taking time off to raise her family.  She is from Peoria and obtained a degree in Elementary Education at Loras College.  When not teaching, Mrs. Breitbach likes to spend time with her husband and four daughters.

Mrs. Kayla Burr joins the staff at St. Philomena School for the 2023-24 school year. She is a native of Carthage, IL and attended Illinois Wesleyan University, where she received a B.A. in Psychology. Kayla and her husband, Daniel, are members of St. Philomena Parish and have five daughters, Anna, Felicity, Eliza, Josephine, & Eden. When she has time, Kayla likes to do house projects, tidy up, cook/bake, sing, and just reflect and plan in silence :) Mrs. Burr's favorite things.

Mrs. Chambers has taught second grade at St. Philomena School since 2007-08 and began teaching two years prior to her arrival.  She earned a degree in Early Childhood Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University.  When not teaching, Mrs. Chambers likes to spend time with her husband, Tony; son, Cole and daughter, Addison.

After teaching junior high history for a few years, Mrs. Cusack transitioned back to the gymnasium as our PE teacher in 2022-23. A Peoria native, she began teaching at St. Philomena as a PE teacher in 2003. When she was expecting her seventh child, she returned to being a full-time mom to raise Lucy. She is married and has seven children, one son-in-law and a grandson. When not in the classroom she enjoys hiking and hanging with her family.

Mrs. Dalbey is the Resource Teacher for our students in the primary grades. She has a degree in Special Education from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. After teaching in the public school system for eight years, she took time off to stay home with her three children: Lily, Ben and Lauren. Before beginning full-time at St. Philomena, Mrs. Dalbey was a substitute teacher in our school. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their children. She loves being a part of the SPS family!
