Mrs. Caroline Masso joins St. Philomena School for the 2025-26 school year as an aide in our PreK-4 program. A native of Peoria, Caroline attended St. Vincent dePaul School and Peoria Notre Dame, and is also a graduate of Bradley University. She is married to Patrick and together they have four children: Michael, James, Matthew and Lucy. No stranger to our community, Caroline has helped coordinate Tiny Tigers Mom group for several years and is currently a lead volunteer with our Well Read Mom Book Club. Mrs. Masso shares, "I have loved the PreK programs at St. Philomena and watching my own children flourish there for the last several years. I am fascinated by how children’s natural curiosity mirrors the wonder and openness we’re called to live out in faith—and I look forward finding creative ways to nurture that every day. It is a blessing to be a part of the St Phil’s school community!"

Starting with the 2023-24 school year, Mrs. Kelly Moyer joined the staff of St. Philomena School as the music teacher. A native of Bettendorf, Iowa she received a BA in music education from Augustana and a master's in music education from Illinois State University. Kelly has taught general music and choir since 2009 in Galesburg and East Peoria. Kelly lives with her husband and daughter. In her spare time she loves reading, playing violin, plants and succulents, and brush lettering.  Fun facts about Mrs. Moyer, "I play violin professionally in the area, I love all things French and have been to Paris twice!"

Mrs. Myers started working at St. Philomena in 2018 as a Catechesis of the Good Shepherd teacher for grades PreK-3rd. In 2019-20, she added counselor for grades PreK-4 to her duties on our campus. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Loras College and a Masters Degree in School Counseling from Bradley University. A native of Peoria, she is married to Dan and they have six children: Maggie, Ben, Kathryn, Mary, Jacob and Matthew.  Mrs. Myers loves to read, go on walks and spend time with her family.

Mrs. Phelps began as an aide with our Kindergarten in 2021-2022. In 2025-26, she is transferring to our Learning Center as our librarian. She has a bachelor’s degree in Biological Systems Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In her free time she enjoys running, reading classic literature and spending time with her husband, their four kids and their dog, Princess Leia. Mrs. Phelps is also one of our many St. Philomena graduates on staff in the school.

Mrs. Randall is a native of Lourdes, Iowa. She holds a psychology degree with a minor in Family Studies from the University of St. Thomas and a Masters of Education from the University of St. Francis. Mrs. Randall began teaching in 2013 with experience in grades 5th-8th, her first school year at St. Philomena was 2019-20. She and her husband have four children. In her personal time, she enjoys camping, hiking, fishing and being outside with her family. She also enjoys being active by running or playing sports.

Mrs. Tony has taught fourth through eighth grades since 1981.  She has taught junior high science at St. Philomena since 2008.  Mrs. Tony is from Peoria and earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Masters of Science in Elementary Education from Bradley University.  She has two children, Stephen and Kelly.  Mrs. Tony enjoys running and sewing.

Mrs. Andrea Whalen began her teaching journey in 2019, spending four years in fourth grade at Ridgeview. She joined the faculty of St. Philomena School in 2023-24 as an English Language Arts teacher in junior high. She says, "While I may not have taught middle school before, I'm so anxious for the opportunity to be at St. Philomena!" Andrea attended Bradley University, where she received a degree in Elementary Education with an ESL Endorsement. Currently she is working on her Masters from Western Illinois University in Curriculum & Instruction. Mrs. Whalen lives with her husband and three children: Lillian, Olivia, and Lincoln. They also have a German Shepherd dog, Oden and a black cat named Griz. In her spare time she loves to run and read. When asked about her hometown, Andrea had this to say, "This is a loaded question! I was born in Miles City, Montana but moved around a lot growing up. I spent a lot of my childhood in Seattle, Washington but came to Illinois from Texas." 

 

Mrs. Jen Williams

Starting in the fall of 2026, Mrs. Jen Williams will make her third move on our campus to kindergarten. She transitioned to the PreK4 program in 2022-23, after having been the first teacher for our parish's PreK3 program in 2017-18. She has been teaching since 2009 and has experience in kindergarten, first grade, and PreK3 in a variety of schools including in Lombard, Delavan and St. Jude. Mrs. Williams graduated from Bradley University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a minor in Spanish. She then attended Benedictine University where she completed her master’s degree in literacy and instruction. Jen is married to Michael and they have four kids Nora, Aidan, Emma and Benny, and a family dog, Bradley. Fun fact: Mrs. Williams was born in Cork, Ireland and moved to the United States in grade school settling in the Chicago suburbs.
