Newsies, Jr., Show Tickets

(February 25, 2026) — Tickets for the SPS spring musical, Newsies, Jr., will go on sale on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 8 a.m. An email will be sent to parish and school families with a link to purchase tickets online when the sale opens. The production will take place at Peoria Players Theatre (4300 N University, Peoria) with four performances:

• Friday, March 20 at 7 p.m.
• Saturday, March 21 at 2 p.m.
• Saturday, March 21 at 7 p.m.
• Sunday, March 22 at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $10 with a $1.50 processing fee per ticket. All four shows have sold out for the past several years, so keep an eye out for the email on Monday, March 2, 2026 and don’t miss your chance to see our St. Philomena students shine on stage!

2026 Sweetheart Ball

The St. Philomena School PTO’s Sweetheart Ball (Father/Special Guy-Daughter Dance) is on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 6-8pm in the school gym. Cost is $20 per couple and $5 for each additional girl, with a maximum of $40 per family.

This event is open to all St. Philomena Church and School families, it is not a public activity. Please register and pay by Friday, February 6, 2026 at 12pm. CLICK HERE for the online registration form. 

All girls attending should be accompanied by an adult: father, uncle, grandfather, special family friend, etc. Please, do not drop off students unattended and unaccounted for without an adult. All girls must ARRIVE with a registered adult who will remain for the entirety of the event.

2026 Catholic Schools Week Open House

The students, faculty and staff of St. Philomena School invite families, parishioners and friends to this year’s open house. Celebrate all that is wonderful about our Catholic school and step inside our halls and classrooms. A special invite to our alumni and alumni parents who maybe haven’t visited in a while. 2026 Musical: Funshop

(November 25, 2025) — Is your child interested in auditioning for this year’s musical? We’d love to have him or her at one of our workshops. Workshops give students opportunities to level up their singing, dancing, and acting skills to prepare them for  auditioning. Audition songs and dances will be introduced at these workshops so students can be ready for our Newsies Jr. auditions in December. Below are the dates, times and locations for this year’s funshops. 

• Tuesday, December 2, 2025, 3:00-5:00 p.m.:  5th grade only (Parish Center basement and choir loft)
• Wednesday, December 3, 2025, 1:30-3:30 p.m.:  6th-8th grade (Parish Center basement and Primary Resource Room)
• Saturday, December 6, 2025, 2:00-4:00 p.m.: Featured Dance Audition Workshop (School Gym and Cafeteria)
