Teacher Appreciation Week 2025

Join us as we celebrate our faculty members the week of May 5-9, 2025. Parents should look for an email from PTO on April 29, 2025.

Suggested ways you can show your teachers appreciation: drawings and notes, flowers from your yard, visit the adoration chapel to pray and write a note on a card (provided inside the chapel). For those who wish to make a monetary donation toward a gift card, contribute to our GIFTCROWD site. And if you’re looking to provide a little something else, HERE is the staff faves list.

Beauty & The Beast, Jr, Tickets

(February 26, 2025) — Tickets for the SPS spring musical, Beauty and the Beast Jr, will go on sale on Monday, March 3, 2025. An email will be sent to parish and school families with a link to purchase tickets online when the sale opens. The production will take place at Peoria Players Theatre (4300 N University, Peoria) with four performances:

• Friday, March 21 at 7 p.m.
• Saturday, March 22 at 1:30 p.m.
• Saturday, March 22 at 7 p.m.
• Sunday, March 23 at 1:30 p.m.

Eighth grade cast and crew members will be recognized after the Saturday 7 p.m. performance. Tickets are $10 with a $1.50 processing fee per ticket. All four shows have sold out for the past several years, so keep an eye out for the email on Monday, March 3, 2025 and don’t miss your chance to see our St. Philomena students shine on stage!

Catholic Charities Visit

(January 17, 2025) —  Sr. Clare and Sr. Merlinda came to St. Philomena School from Catholic Charities to speak about their ministry to the 8th grade class. We sent them back with about 15 bags and boxes of supplies for their clients during this cold weather!

Donations of new and gently used coats, gloves, and hats (all sizes) as well as toiletry items like chapstick, hand warmers, socks, etc. can be dropped off at 615 NE Jefferson Ave., Peoria.
