Kelly Needham Memorial Blood Drive

The Kelly Needham Memorial Blood Drive will be Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. in the St. Philomena School Gym. To make an appointment, go online to www.redcrossblood.org and type stphils in the box at the top that says Find a Blood Drive.

The American Red Cross continues to experience critical blood shortages. Please make an appointment to donate if you are eligible. Whole blood donors are eligible to give every 56 days, so December 30, 2023 would be the latest date for this drive.

Kelly was a Peoria native and graduate of both St. Philomena School and Peoria Notre Dame High School. Upon graduation, he attended the University of Missouri (Mizzou), where he was a regular blood donor. He believed in helping others and donated blood five times during his lifetime. In August 2012, at just 21 years old, Kelly was involved in a tragic car accident that took his life.

Since our first drive in his memory in 2013, we have collected 573 pints – each pint helping three people. Please give blood in Kelly’s memory to help keep his lifesaving spirit going.
