Stewardship

"As each one has recieved a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace." (1Peter 4:10)

As we understand from Christ's teaching, stewardship is a central part of discipleship. For Catholics, discipleship means living one's life patterned on the life and teachings of Christ as revealed in Scripture and as taught by the Church. As disciples, then, Catholics are called by the Lord to be good stewards.

Stewardship is how we live our discipleship. As a disciple of jesus, we can choose to use our time, our talents and our material goods to help build His Church here on Earth. As stewards of these gifts, we are ultimately accountable to God for the way we choose to use them.

Our inaugural Stewardship Weekend was May 21 and 22 in the gym. There was a variety of parish groups represented to answer parishioner's questions about how parishioners can be involved. Available at the fair was the Stewardship Commitment Form (formerly known as the Time & Talent Sheet) for 2011-12. This form is now available in the church as well as at the rectory. Please pick one up and prayerfully consider how you will share your time and talent.

Forms can be returned anytime to the rectory, school or collection at your earliest convenience. We ask that you try to  return your form by June 3,2011. However, forms can be returned anytime. If you have any questions, please contact Rhonda Parker at rhonpark@stphils.com or 682-8642.
