At St. Philomena, Mass with the distribution of ashes will be at 7:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m. (School Mass) and 5:30 p.m. For Mass times at other Peoria-area Catholic churches, <strong>please see the bulletin.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Everyone 14 years of age or older is bound to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays of Lent.\u00a0 Everyone 18 &#8211; under 59 years of age is bound to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.<\/p>\n<p>On these days of fast and abstinence, only one full meatless meal is allowed. Two other meatless meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to one\u2019s needs, but together they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted but liquids, including milk and fruit juices, are allowed. When health would be seriously affected, the law does not oblige.
