We will have one Mass on Thanksgiving at 9am. It is a tradition at St. Philomena for parishioners to bring the bread for their Thanksgiving meal to the altar before Mass on Thanksgiving Day.\u00a0 The bread is then blessed by the priest before the end of Mass.<\/p>\n

Giving Trees are in the Link. Please follow the directions on the tags and return all gifts with tags by the 7:30pm Mass on Dec. 8. On the tree are tags for gifts for parish families, items for Catholic Charities, items for the Women\u2019s Care Center and monetary donations for Haiti.\u00a0 Thank you in advance for your generosity.<\/p>\n

There will be a second collection this weekend for the Diocesan Seminarian Fund. Please make any checks payable to Office of Priestly Vocations.<\/p>\n

Started in 2012, #GivingTuesday is known to kick off the charitable season. People across the globe embrace this day of giving in the height of consumerism around the holidays\u2014it\u2019s a breath of fresh air. It reminds people to give back in a meaningful way after the hustle and bustle of shopping. This year, #GivingTuesday is Dec. 3. We will once again participate with funds going toward our church endowment fund. Please prayerfully consider what your family can do to help us with this fund raising effort, then on Dec. 3 go to www.stphils.com<\/a> and click on the green DONATE button at the top and put your donation to the fund St. Philomena Parish Endowment. If you\u2019d like to give in a traditional way, we appreciate those gifts as well. Thank you for your support. Contact the parish office with any questions.<\/p>\n

The next Men\u2019s Club meeting is Mon., Dec. 9. This is the meeting where the men put up the decorations for Christmas. Men of the parish are welcome to join in starting at 5pm in the church. Regular meeting will happen in the banquet room around 6pm. All men are invited. If you can\u2019t join us at 5pm, please do plan on coming to the meeting.<\/p>\n
