First Wednesday confession is today from 5-6pm in the church.<\/p>\n

Fall Adult Study: The Teachings of Archbishop Fulton J Sheen meets each week in the parish center banquet room. The second series in this study is based on the book \u201cThe World\u2019s First Love\u201d by Fulton J. Sheen and begins Wed., Nov. 6, from 6:30-8pm. Reading the book is optional. The series will end with an optional Marian consecration. Childcare offered if requested in advance to Jenny Witt (jwitt@stphils.com\/309-682-8642).<\/p>\n

The school’s annual Canned Food Drive is here. This drive will run through Nov. 15. Feel free to donate cans and toiletries in the box located in\u00a0the back of the church. Please do not donate any glass items or Halloween candy. Thank you for your support!<\/p>\n

On Thurs.,\u00a0Nov. 7, St. Philomena student council invites all veterans to come to St. Philomena’s school Mass at 9 am to be honored. There will be a Veterans\u2019 Day presentation following Mass.<\/p>\n

Next Men\u2019s Club Meeting: Thurs., Nov. 7 \u00a0at 6pm in the Parish Center. This is our annual \u201cwild game feed.\u201d Come and feast on a variety of wild game. This is always a popular meeting. If you have not joined yet this year, you can do so at this meeting. Annual dues are only $10. Plus, free dinner with your paid membership. Yum! Each time you attend a Men\u2019s Club meeting you have a chance to win cash. This month\u2019s pot is about $725. Free dinner and a chance to win cash. Don\u2019t miss it!<\/p>\n

Sign and Sing Storytime The final session of Sign and Sing for this fall runs Thursdays from Oct. 31-Dec. 12. Class meets in the parish center basement toddler room after 8am Mass. Cost is $25\/family. Please register online, even if you were in the last session, at https:\/\/www.stphils.com\/church\/faith-formation\/children\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Fr. Mike Driscoll will present a series of six adult education sessions entitled, \u201cCatholic Sanity: a Catholic Approach to Mental Health.\u201d The sessions will be held at Peoria Notre Dame High School Auditorium, Wednesdays at 7pm, through Dec. 11. Come to any or all sessions, open to the public, no sign up. If you\u2019d like a list of topics, contact the parish office.<\/p>\n

Please return your baby bottles in support of the Women\u2019s Care Center this week\/weekend. Bottles can be returned to the bins at each entrance or to the parish center office. Thank you for your support.<\/p>\n

St. Philomena Troop 18 Boy Scouts Annual Holiday Smoked Meat Sale. Contact Chris Lewis:\u00a0 303-4727 or lewischris1975@gmail.com<\/a> The Scouts will be at Mass this weekend to take your orders in person<\/i>.\u00a0 All orders must be received & paid for by Nov. 22. St. Philomena School Parents: Join us for our second parent night on Wed., Nov. 13 from 6:30-8pm in the parish center. Our topic will be \u201cTeaching Your Child Problem Solving in Social Situations.\u201d We will have wine and cheese, door prizes and takeaways, practicals and discussion. On Nov. 16 at 10am we will have our annual Parish Memorial & Healing Mass. This is when we remember all of our deceased loved ones, with special remembrance of those from our parish who have died in the past year. At this same Mass, Father David will anoint anyone who wishes to be anointed for physical, spiritual or emotional healing. Please join us.<\/p>\n
