St. Philomena Parishioners are invited to a dinner with special guest speaker, Fr. Luke Spannagel, a priest of our Diocese who is also a national speaker with the Eucharistic Revival happening in the United States right now (see his bio below). Fr. Luke will present on the topic “That All May Be One” – The Fruits of Communion That Unite us to Christ and One Another. 

The event will be on Saturday, April 1, 2023 in the parish center banquet room. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., following the 4:30 p.m. Mass. Lasagna will be served for dinner.

Fr. Luke’s Bio

Fr. Luke Spannagel is a member of the team of National Eucharistic Preachers which is part of the National Eucharistic Revival of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. The Mission of the Revival is To renew the Church by enkindling a living relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.” 

Having recently served as the pastor of St. Mary and Sacred Heart Churches in Rock Island, Fr. Luke currently serves at the Cathedral and Heart of Peoria Parishes in Peoria. Fr. Luke grew up outside of a small farm community in Pesotum. After his undergrad studies at the University of Illinois, he went on to seminary at Mt. St. Mary’s in Emmitsburg, MD. Fr. Luke was ordained for the Diocese of Peoria in 2003 and has enjoyed assignments in campus ministry and parishes of all sizes. Fr. Luke has shared that his time each day in the Mass and in Eucharistic Adoration are the best parts of his day. He loves being a spiritual father to many and has a great passion for helping hearts to grow.
