New Adoration Chapel
On January 1, 2011, the Feast of Mary, the Mother of God, we opened our new Adoration Chapel. The Chapel was officially consecrated by Bishop Daniel Jenky, CSC, when he came for Confirmation on March 27, 2011. During the week of January 1st, we held several Open Houses to familiarize parishioners and adorers with the Chapel and to provide access cards. We hope you will find the Chapel to be a simple and beautiful prayer space. The graces associated with parishes that operate an Adoration Chapel are well-founded. There are so many people to thank for the completion of this project. Special thanks to the Williams’ family that has provided leadership since the beginning of the Adoration program at St. Philomena. In 2010, our Adoration Chapel Committee met several times to direct the construction and the needs of St. Philomena Adorers. We are so thankful to each of them for their time and advice. The benefits from those meetings were evident from the beginning to the end of the project. Thank you to all parishioners that offered a helping hand. There are a few finishing touches to the outside of the building that won’t be finished till it warms in the Spring 2011. Eventually, we plan to design and purchase Stained Glass Windows for the inside of the Chapel. If you would like information about this, please contact Fr. David P. Richardson, pastor.
